Received the final volume of the late Satoshi Kon’s Opus comic series, and as I suspected of the confusion presented in the first volume…it doesn’t solve any of it. (and also I would like to state that in that previous post I said “his films are confusing”, however I personally do not find them confusing)

Seemingly the comic world they’re in is destroyed and everyone inside is obliterated apart from these two and a dog. They find a way to bring back the dead, however:

And then another seperate world they find themselves in (another comic the author pictured made) starts to crumble in the same way and a battle with a malicious evil force, they find themselves freefalling through space…

…and then it reverts to Satoshi Kon himself, seemingly struggling over how to finish a comic. Maybe this one?

…eh? At least we get a nice drawing of his drawing room.

I’m not too sure if this is meant to be the ending (apparently the ending chapter was “elusive”) or he ended the series abruptly for other work but it seems it was drawn far later after the previous chapter. I should really start to learn Japanese…
If you wish to buy these books for yourself, which I recommend, you buy them here, from Yesasia. If you buy them at the same time you can take advantage of their free shipping and just pay for the books total.
Me? I’m buying that Seraphim book next…
Also, does this mask seem familiar?

This character appears as the main antagonist of Opus and is a constant present throughout. And not just the comic it seems, but in other Kon works…like this screenshot from Perfect Blue for example…
