That’s right, that’s right, hold the applause.

Behold my new publishing strategy, this month is Blood rush and next month will be chapter 7 of Diamond Cutter, then the next Blood Rush batch and so on and so forth for eternity.

Anyways, I’ve got to get back to training for the 100m at the London Olympics.

S.O.D.T. tease #3

…? Who is that?

Satoshi Kon’s Opus, part 2

Posted in Comics, Hype on January 15th, 2012 by autsa – Be the first to comment

Received the final volume of the late Satoshi Kon’s Opus comic series, and as I suspected of the confusion presented in the first volume…it doesn’t solve any of it. (and also I would like to state that in that previous post I said “his films are confusing”, however I personally do not find them confusing)

Seemingly the comic world they’re in is destroyed and everyone inside is obliterated apart from these two and a dog. They find a way to bring back the dead, however:

And then another seperate world they find themselves in (another comic the author pictured made) starts to crumble in the same way and a battle with a malicious evil force, they find themselves freefalling through space…

…and then it reverts to Satoshi Kon himself, seemingly struggling over how to finish a comic. Maybe this one?

…eh? At least we get a nice drawing of his drawing room.

I’m not too sure if this is meant to be the ending (apparently the ending chapter was “elusive”) or he ended the series abruptly for other work but it seems it was drawn far later after the previous chapter. I should really start to learn Japanese…

If you wish to buy these books for yourself, which I recommend, you buy them here, from Yesasia. If you buy them at the same time you can take advantage of their free shipping and just pay for the books total.

Me? I’m buying that Seraphim book next…

Also, does this mask seem familiar?

This character appears as the main antagonist of Opus and is a constant present throughout. And not just the comic it seems, but in other Kon works…like this screenshot from Perfect Blue for example…

S.O.D.T. teaser # 2

Second image for my next comic, S.O.D.T. which I’ve started pencilling already. The first chapter will be 26 pages, barring any ideas/extra sections added whimsically.

It’s a bit vague…but then again, it IS a teaser. Trying to make these look like fancy posters that a hollywood studio would make for a new release…except done in Photoshop 7.0. More to come!

While backing up my computer for formatting, I found a comic that someone drew of an old tweet of mine. It’s kind of a motto of mine.

Actually, it hasn’t taken me far except from the bed to the toilet and back, but still, it sounds cool… Stephanie O’Donnell draws the comic Perfect Agent, which you can read here. This strip was from a previous comic of hers, which I don’t believe is up anymore. So I can’t link it.

Coming February…S.O.D.T.

S.O.D.T., my next project coming February. Super vague teaser…

I’ll be doing more teasers and updates as I get the first chapter done, will probably be around 20-30 pages. Stay tuned!

Filial Piety Epilogue + End

Click to read the epilogue + end of Filial Piety. Perhaps now is the time to back through and reread all 340 pages?

Well that’s that and all, but…what is S.O.D.T.? You’ll find out in the new year, so have a good one + I’ll see you then!!

Merry Non-specific holiday festival!! + present + King Diamond

Salutations!! Hope all is well + all drinks are drunk. I’m halfway through mine, and I’m not stopping until they’re all gone.

As a pre-Filial epilogue treat, here’s a comic I didn’t get round to finishing – another addition to the Road Bastards 2 comic, almost a year after the first section went up. (click the image to read about “Bladey”, a slightly less-than-trustworthy soul)

I pencilled and inked it all in July or so, but lost interest in finishing off the colouring due to how much work it was. So if you’re wondering why the last two pages are in the state they are, now you know. And now given to you for xmas. Aren’t I cheap nice?

But either way, enjoy this until I upload Filial’s epilogue – definitely before the end of the year – and I’ll leave you with the most xmas song there is. I’m off to play Peace Walker + Shadows of the Damned. AT THE SAME TIME!!!

Mercyful Xmas, one and all!!

Out of nowhere…Autsa’s Best album of 2011

Posted in music, Xmas Weeks on December 10th, 2011 by autsa – Comments Off

Screw mediocrity, I’m only interested in the best, and the best album of this year (that I can remember) was…

Weightless

by

Animals as Leaders

Excellent intelligent instrumental metal. Like Meshuggah but more melodic, easily my most listened to album in the few months since its release and perhaps for some time to come.

———

And as a bonus, this years biggest disappointment

The Hunter by Mastodon

A Mastodon album for people who don’t like Mastodon or metal. I know a band has to step in a new direction with each album to avoid stagnation, but damn…at least look where you’re going!!
